Female Headers on the LOGI-Bone

I'm considering getting a LOGI-Bone and a BBB to learn more about ARM and FPGA technology. On most vendor sites the LOGI-Bone is shown without female headers for the BBB signals but your site does show them. Is the one shown on your site a newer version and is it available?  Can you use other capes with this board as long as the capes do not use the same signals?

Good catch.  All of the LOGI-Bone boards have the female headers.  The pictures seen on the sites were early hand built boards  and were never replaced with the offitially MFGd boards.  I hope to push to get these updated with the "2" version boards.

Yes, you can feel free to share any FPGA pins with other functionality.  The FPGA can float, weak pull-up/down(default) unused pins so that they are easily shared with other connected functions.

One issue you may have with other capes is the configuration eeprom settings.  The LOGI-Bone requires it's own device tree overlay and you will need to make sure it is compatible with the cape your are runing.  You can always cutomize the device tree overlay of the LOGI to create "co-compatibility".

    Cheers.
